Our Cross Country running program is for youth ages 7-14. This program will help youth learn to improve their running techniques and skills while improving their endurance. Cross Country is designed to be a program to teach the basic skills of cross country. Program includes at least 10 practices as well as at least 3 cross country meets. The cross country program will compete against other programs from other city recreation departments so some travel with this program is required.

If you miss the registration deadline you will be placed on a wait list. If there is room in the program you will be called to sign up. A $10 fee will apply to those coming off the wait list.
WherePractices will be held at Harvest Hills Park in Saratoga Springs. Meets will be held at surrounding cities.
Who Ages 7-14 years old.
Ages are determined by USATF age guidelines which are birth year and not actual age.
WhenSeason Starts August 17
Practices and meets against other City programs. Each participant will also receive a team T-shirt.
There will be one or two practice days per week depending on the week with a total of 10 practices. Practice days will be Monday and Thursday the first two weeks of the season. Once meets start they will be held on Mondays with practices being Thursdays the remainder of the season. Depending on registration numbers there will be two practice times in the evening as well (TBD). Also depending on registration numbers the age groups will be divided evenly between the two practices. Practices will be held at Harvest Hills Park.
A mandatory parent meeting will be held at the first practice of the season. Because of the nature of cross country parents and athletes are responsible to know how practices and meets are to be conducted. This meeting is VERY important to receive this information.
