The Saratoga Springs Community Orchestra is a place where we can come together with other community members, to build friendships and enjoy playing a wide variety music. We are a non-audition group which means we are reaching out to those that are or who may have been part of music ensembles (such as junior high, high school or college) and are interested in performing again in an orchestra.
It's been a long year since we were able to meet as an orchestra and we know many of you are looking forward to meeting and performing again. Keeping in mind the new health guidelines, we are planning on doing rehearsals a little differently this year. For one, we will hold fewer rehearsals and perform a shorter concert. Secondly, we will meet as smaller groups by holding more sectionals and will rehearse as much as possible outside of the Saratoga Springs Public Safety Building (367 S Saratoga Rd, Saratoga Springs, UT 84045 - east of Patriot Park) so we can physically distance ourselves with the following schedule:
How much time is needed and what is the schedule?
April 22 7pm (Thursday)
April 29 and May 6 - TBD (Thursdays) Rehearse as sections.
May 13 and May 20 - 7pm (Thursdays) Full Group rehearsal.
May 27 Optional Sectionals -TBD (Thursday) Rehearse as sections.
June 3 AT Neptune Park Stage - 7pm Final rehearsal.
June 7 AT Neptune Park -- Evening Concert
*Please remember to bring your instrument and your own music stand to all rehearsals.....
The Orchestra is currently accepting new members and would love to have more Strings. If you would like to join, Please email Dan Fritch, the director, to be added to the list and plan on coming early to our next rehearsal so we can get you setup with your music. Please contact Dan before coming, as sometimes the orchestra needs to change the rehearsal location.
For more information, we have a Facebook group (Saratoga Springs Community Orchestra). You are welcome to join at this link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/1509633232662037/
· You get to play a variety of great music
· There are only 2 or 3 rehearsals a month
· There is no cost to join
· You can make new friends by joining with others in performing music in a fun environment.
This is your chance to be part of our community orchestra and provide festive concerts for your family, friends, and community. Please don’t miss out on being a part of the orchestra this year. AND if you know of other talented family and friends that would love to perform in an orchestra with you, please invite them to join as well! We currently have about 50 members. This year we would love to double, if not triple, the number of string players!
