Firefighter Physical Fitness Standards

The following are the minimum physical standards for all firefighters employed by the City of Saratoga Springs.

  • Must become NWCG Red Card certified within first year. (Training provided by SSFR)
  • Must become trained to the technician level for both water and ice rescue in first year. (Training provided by SSFR)
  • Must successfully complete an annual physical fitness standard test which includes a CPAT format and the Red Card Pack test.
  • Must successfully complete the Comprehensive Physical Agility Test (CPAT)
  • Must successfully complete the NWCG Red Card Pack Test
