- Groundwater Protection
One source contributing to the drinking water system in the City of Saratoga Springs is groundwater that comes from several City-owned wells. City Code 18.06.02.1.c acknowledges the importance of protecting the quality of receiving waters, including groundwater sources. Any property within proximity to groundwater sources throughout the city has the potential of discharging contaminants that may be introduced to the groundwater supply and contaminate the drinking water.
The City of Saratoga Springs would like to request your cooperation in protecting the drinking water supply. Potential contaminants of concern include fertilizers, pesticides, and household hazardous wastes stored or used at your property. Downloadable fact sheets describing proper handling, storage, and use of these materials are available below.
If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to contact Public Works at 801-766-6506. Thank you for your cooperation.
